Yummy Bars (Healthy Four Ingredient Dessert)

One night my husband and I both really-really wanted dessert, but also really-really were trying to get in shape and eat healthy. After some scrolling on the web, we found recipes with a combo of peanut butter, honey, oatmeal, and chocolate chips. It all sounded pretty good, so we hopped into the kitchen to experiment and make a mess. The end product satisfied our dessert craving.
This simple, quick, moist, sweet, delectable, healthy, no-guilt bar is one you don’t want to miss out on. It can function as a breakfast, snack, lunch, dinner and dessert. I would make these for my husband when he worked construction and that’d be all he needed to make it through his long and laborious day. My kids chow these down anytime as a meal. I even eat them for a quick breakfast as I am walking around the house vacuuming. These bars have been a hit at gatherings and I have gotten multiple compliments and requests for the recipe.
Ingredients:
1 cup peanut butter
½ cup honey
2-2 1/4 cups quick oats (if you have runnier peanut butter, err on the side of more)
Optional: chocolate chips
Directions:
Melt peanut butter and honey together in a pot on medium-low heat.
Stir in quick oats. (Start with 2 cups. If this seems really wet still, add another 1/4 cup)
Press mixture into an 8 by 8 pan. (No need to grease the pan!)
Push desired amount of chocolate chips on top while the bars are still warm.
Allow bars to cool to room temperature.
Note: You can easily double this recipe and use a 9 by 13 pan instead.
If I could only ever make one recipe for the rest of my life, I’d choose these. They are truly that versatile and tasty. I hope you give them a try!
